The FDA appears to be negligent in regards to many drugs. Look at the prescribing of MIRALAX TO CHILDREN. Polyethylene glycol is the generic name and known by many other trade names, however it IS NOT FDA APPROVED for use in children and the FDA issued a warning in 2011, long overdue after a 2009 oversight board meeting in response to skyrocketing adverse event reports, climbing to almost 10,000 now. The NASPGHAN, North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition promotes the use of this dangerous drug now under scrutiny. Free Continuing Medical Education Units are available from their web-site, a serious ethical concern. This is especially concerning, because in their 2014 publication there is no mention of the 2011 FDA warning of "POSSIBLE NEUROPSYCHIATRIC EVENTS". Please disseminate this information, so uninformed parents can make their informed choice as to whether or not to use polyethylene glycol. This drug has harmed many children.
